Baldurs Gate 3 will finally be fully released for Mac on the 21st of September 2023.
The developer Larian Studios published the Mac release date on X after weeks of confusion following the official release on other platforms saying simply:
Patch 3 is coming September 21 with full support for BG3 on Mac.
The full version of Baldurs Gate 3 for Mac will be available on Steam and work on both Intel and Apple Silicon M1/M2 chip Macs.
The Windows version was released on August 3rd followed by a Playstation 5 release last week but the Mac version was mysteriously missing despite there being an Early Release version of Baldurs Gate III for Mac on Steam.
Currently, only the Early Release version is still available on Steam which is only one Act of the game.
Although there is already a workaround to play the full version of Baldurs Gate 3 on a Mac by linking Steam to GeForce Now, it requires the added hassle and expense of a GeForce Now subscription.
But from 21st of September, Mac users will be able to download and play Baldurs Gate III on Steam.
