Adobe Acrobat Pro is the best PDF editing software for Mac and Windows and here we show you how to buy it as a one time purchase without a subscription.

The latest version of Adobe Acrobat Pro for both macOS and Windows is only available on subscription for $19.99 per month if you pay annually up front.

Not everyone wants to be tied into a subscription to use it though and it’s not very clear how to buy Adobe Acrobat Pro without a subscription.

However, you can still buy a one time purchase of Adobe Acrobat Pro without a subscription as we’ll show you here.

You can buy a non-subscription version of Adobe Acrobat Pro – but it’s only for Acrobat Pro 2020.

The desktop version of Adobe Acrobat 2020 is still available as a one-time purchase for $538.80 as a perpetual license as you can see below.

However, Adobe Acrobat 2020 does not include any quarterly Acrobat feature updates and does not allow you to access premium Adobe Document Cloud services such as Acrobat Sign via web browser or mobile device.

Windows users can also purchase Adobe Acrobat Standard 2020 as a one time purchase but the Standard version is not available to Mac users.

Is It Better To Buy Adobe Acrobat Pro On Subscription?

It’s better to buy Adobe Acrobat Pro on subscription because one year at $19.99 will cost $239.88 annually and include all the advantages of Adobe Document Cloud or Adobe Creative Cloud.

You get much more with Adobe Acrobat Pro DC including Adobe Document Cloud integration (hence the “DC”) which includes Adobe Sign for legally binding document signing and document management in Adobe Cloud.

Meanwhile a one off purchase of Adobe Acrobat Pro 2020 costs $538 and doesn’t include any of these features.

You’ll also need to update or upgrade it after at least a couple of years due to updates to macOS and Windows, security updates, feature updates etc.
