Privacy search engine DuckDuckGo has launched the DuckDuck Go For Mac web browser which uses many of the same privacy protection measures that have made the search engine so popular.

The DuckDuckGo search engine has been a popular alternative to the major search engines due to its strict no-tracking privacy settings and provides another alternative to Safari, Chrome and Firefox on a Mac.

Unusually, DuckDuckGo is choosing to launch the browser on macOS before Windows, possibly because of the success of the browser on iPhone.

The DuckDuckGo browser is already available for iPhone and the Mac version offers the same tracker blocker, email protection and other privacy tools included.

DuckDuckGo also claims the browser is extremely fast and uses 60% less data than Google Chrome.

At the moment, you have to join a private waitlist to be invited to use DuckDuckGo For Mac which you can only do from the mobile version by going to: Settings > DuckDuckGo for Desktop > Join The Private Waitlist.

Note that you need to be running the latest version of DuckDuckGo for iPhone to access the Waitlist option.
