Some news which slipped under the radar recently is that you can now play Valheim natively on a Mac for the first time.
The developer Iron Gate studios announced it early this month releasing Valheim for Mac on Steam and on the Mac App Store. ($19.99/£19.99).
Currently it’s cheaper on Steam as you can get it with 50% off for $9.99.
Valheim was released on other platforms back in 2021 but until now, Mac users had to use workarounds which required third party software and didn’t offer all the functionality of the game.
Crucially, the official Mac version supports Crossplay so that you can play with players on other platforms.
The game works on both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs although an Apple Silicon Mac is recommended in the system requirements.
The System Requirement for Valheim for Mac are as follows:
Minimum:
- OS: MacOS 10.13 or later
- Processor: 2.6 GHz Quad Core or similar
- Graphics: Radeon Pro 450 or R9 M290X
- Memory: 8 GB
- Available disk space: 3 GB
Recommended:
- OS: MacOS 14 or later
- Processor: Apple M1
- Graphics: M1 Integrated GPU or Radeon Pro 570X
- Memory: 16 GB
- Available disk space: 3 GB
