Can You Play EA FC26 or FC25 on a Mac?

Last updated:

EA FC 26, released on September 26th, 2025, is not available natively for macOS. Unlike some older EA titles, there are currently no official Mac versions, and traditional workarounds like CrossOver or virtual machines no longer provide a reliable way to run the game due to modern anti-cheat systems.

However, EA FC 25 is currently available for streaming to Macs via XBox Cloud and EA FC 26 is likely to replace it on there sometime in 2026.

In the meantime, there may also be possibilities to play the game via other cloud gaming platforms.

Here’s what you need to know about how to play EA FC 26 on a Mac.

1. Cloud Gaming Services

The most practical way to play EA FC 26 on a Mac is via game streaming from a remote Windows PC. Several services provide this:

  • Xbox Cloud Gaming
    • Available through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Xbox Cloud Gaming already lets you stream EA FC 25 directly to your Mac via a web browser. Although EA FC 26 isn’t available on it yet, it will likely replace EA FC 25 on it sometime next year. This provides an easy way to play the EA FC series on a Mac without needing to install Windows or worry about anti-cheat issues. Game Pass Ultimate costs $29.99/£22.99 per month (Microsoft increased pricing in October 2025). For more on the platform, check out our full Xbox Cloud review.
  • Shadow
    • Shadow gives you a full Windows 11 PC in the cloud. You can install EA FC 26 on your virtual machine and stream it to your Mac. This is effectively the same as having a dedicated Windows gaming PC remotely. However, it’s expensive as you effectively “rent” server space on it and pricing starts at $37.99 per month.
  • Other cloud gaming platforms
    • Services like Boosteroid or NVIDIA GeForce Now may support EA FC 26 in the future. You’ll need to keep an eye on supported game lists for these though.

2. What No Longer Works

Some older methods that used to allow playing Windows games on Mac are no longer viable for any of the EA FC series:

  • CrossOver – While it once allowed some EA titles to run, the Denuvo anti-cheat system in EA FC 26 prevents the game from functioning properly. CrossOver cannot currently run EA FC 25 and therefore FC 26 also will not work in it either.
  • Virtual Machines (Parallels, VMware Fusion) – Installing Windows in a virtual machine also no longer works for EA FC 26 due to incompatibility with the game’s anti-cheat software.

Basically, if you want to play EA FC 26 on a Mac today, cloud gaming is your only reliable option.

Waiting until its available on Xbox Cloud Gaming is probably your best option or if you can afford it, a service like Shadow will allow you to enjoy the game without needing a native macOS version or a Windows PC at home.

Traditional methods like CrossOver or virtual machines are no longer viable due to modern anti-cheat systems, so it’s best to focus on cloud solutions.
